There are only 13 Chop locations across Canada, but one of them is right here in Rexdale. This restaurant stands out, such that it was the only place in Rexdale featured in the 2017 edition of Summerlicious. The cool, stylish environment makes you want to come back on a regular basis. I strongly recommend the eponymous Chop Salad, featuring bacon, chicken, boiled eggs, avocado, fresh greens, and red wine vinaigrette. Not exactly a vegetarian's salad, but this is a steakhouse after all.

Toronto's only Makimono location happens to be right here in Rexdale, and for that, we are very fortunate. Not only can you enjoy reasonably priced Japanese cuisine for lunch and dinner, but you can also unwind in the cool and relaxing ambience of this restaurant. Compared with Ginko just a minute's drive further down the street, Makimono's food is just as good, at a fraction of the price, and the parking is free. Ginko is located inside a hotel and charges for parking. Compared with Sushi Ya just across the street, I would say the food and price are comparable, but Makimono is much more spacious, quiet, and has less of a fast-food feel to it.
